Today We started the process of adopting our baby girl. Lillian from Haiti. We are currently waiting for our refferal from China and were planning on starting an adoption from Haiti as soon as she was home. But it looks like God had other plans and placed Lilly in our hearts now instead. I have talked to her agency and the said that we are far enough along with china to start adopting our little princess from Haiti. I am so excited today I could burst. She will be 7 months tomorrow. She has the cutest chubby cheeks and she was laughing in her picture. I truely hope that this is Gods plan for us because I have simply fallen in love.

Just had to say hi from another mom who is adopting a Lillian! My Lillian is in Liberia and she is seven years old. We are also doing the dual adoption thing - we have one coming from Guatemala and one coming from Liberia, both within a few months of each other probably.

Ours will probably be the same age china and Haiti. It is all so new we just decided today. I saw her picture last week and it would not leave my thoughts. I kept waiting for someone to say that we couldn't do it but the were all so encouraging. It seems that everyone wants to help us. It looks like she is really going to be ours. She has been in the orphanage for 3 months and no one has claimed her. She is so precious I find it hard to believe. I think that God must want her to be with our family.

Congratulations! Where are you in the process? Can you reuse much of your dossier for China, or do you need to redo everything?
We are in the process of adopting a little boy from Haiti-- he's currently 18 mo. and we hope to have him home by his 2nd birthday. Our dossier is in Haiti and either just has entered IBESR or will enter VERY shortly... Good luck to you-- can't wait to see a picture.

We just found out that we cannot adopt this little girl. She is very sick and has been in the hospital for over a month. The agency did not know this yesterday. They actually told me today that they did not think she would make it. So she is not adoptable. We are heartbroken for her. It is as if we are mourning her when we never had her. I am having a rough day today. I am sure that we will begin the process again with another little girl but I really fell for her.

We are going to be ok. It is really hard but we have decided that we will send her a care package and pray for her. We don't know what else to do. We are sad but we will find our little angel eventually.

update
We are officially in the process to adopt our little miracle baby. She is doing so much better, thanks to alot of pressing on my part and a ton of encouragement, support and prayers from many adoptive mothers. Our daughter Lillian Chrystelle Rain Smith will be coming home soon. She is now back at her orphanage with her own personal care giver. Yep she is definitly my daughter. The baby who needs the most attention! We are hoping to travel to Haiti for a visit in the next 2 months.

I love the idea of telling people they are twins. When we were only adopting our daughter from china Someone asked if we were going to tell her she was adopted. So the alternative would be????? I think my daughters will figure it out but yes we will always talk about adoption in our home. People are so funny. By the way my dh my sd and I are all blond and blue eyed. Possibly the whittest looking people on the planet. I think next years family picture will be so much more complete.
