We have been considering adopting from Haiti for a while now, and have recently happened upon some missionaries there who do a few adoptions. They have a little baby boy who needs a mom and dad, and we are thrilled to be the ones!!! We are all done with our dossier now and are state certified! The translations are due in by Christmas, so we will be sending off for the Haitian seals soon, then on to Haiti! After our dossier is in Haiti, the adoption should take about 12 weeks! YIPPEE! This means our son will be home in April sometime!!! He is now 3 months old, so he will be about 8 months when we get him home. We already have one baby from Taiwan...his name is Greyson and he is now 2.5 years old. He came home at 12 months old. We are feeling so blessed to be having another son!

Keep us in your thoughts as we send everything down to Haiti and wait for the adoption to be official!

Are the missionaries associated with a home that does adoptions? ...also, could you share how much your translations cost? Its the one thing I have been surprised about the cost of! Funny you should ask about translations...I found a local university professor who had a native French speaking assistant who took it on...BUT she has had the dossier since before Thanksgiving and we still do not have it done!!! She estimated the cost at around $250. Very reasonable! Now if she would just get the thing done! That is all we are waiting on to be dossier to Haiti!!! ARGH!
