Unhappy Wondering if............................

Anyone knows if Haiti was hit by the hurricane weather that has been going through and if so how bad. My husband and I are trying to get a baby boy here into the US from HCH and the chapter of HEAL THE CHILDREN closest to us can not get in touch with the director, Pat Smith to get information they need. She said she was getting some very scary weather damage reports and we are desperately trying to find out anything we can.

Here is a link to a newstory about Haiti and the Hurricane. The island has been devistated with 1000's dead and even more homeless. It is not good. They are in a state of emergency with no food, vandalism and riots etc...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

We have connections in PAP and they are doing ok. I don't know where your son is but I know that all of the kids in our son's orphange are ok! Most of the damage was in northern Haiti. Good luck to you! Your son will be in our prayers!

The area that was hit the hardest was Gonaives. I have read on HCH's yahoo group site that phones and communication systems are down, but everyone at HCH is fine. It will probably take a few days to get the phones up and running again in the area.
Good luck,
Tammi

Talking We heard from HCH thank you everyone!!!!!!

We heard from the HCH orphanage yesterday and everyone is fine which we were very thankful Jesse was ok as well as the others. We want to thank everyone who replied to the post we are still trying to get a doctor who will oversee Jesse if even for his shunt. This is our next prayer request that HEAL THE CHILDREN in the FLA/GA area will agree to take Jesse as a patient and we can get him here and get started on having him as a partt of our family forever.
