Hague ???
So am I understanding that once the hague is signed then it will be harder for canadiens to adopt nb us infants becuas they have to try to find a home domestically first? How would that work in private adoption, I mean if a pbm picks you then she picks you, no? Would they only show domestic profiles first? Does anyone understand this?

I spoke to an international SW about this yesterday and she said when the Hague convention has been ratified, even if you have already been matched in the US they will cancel your adoption. It sounds pretty brutal so I'm now considering over abroad because I won't have my home study ready until next spring (when the convention is due to be ratified).

We were told we would be grandfathered in ~ we cannot be and while we have been in process a year and waiting we are completely ousted from the program in the USA due to the implementation of the Hague. move very carefully, and ask many questions. We are heartbroken and have to start all over again.
