criminal record
My husband and I are looking into adoption and have found out that we need to have a clean criminal record. We live in Ontario, Canada, and I have a charge from when I was 19 (32 now), I was charged with a DUI and now I have to get a pardon for this in order to clean up my record to be able to adopt. I found out that it can take and probably will take up to 2 years for this to happen. Has anyone had any experience with this being their
situation and how did it all work out. Thank You for any help you can offer me. |

Hi there - sorry i'm posting so late but, stay ontop of any paperwork you submit - get contact names and mark adoption on EVERYTHING. You should be able to move it through quicker. (just from my experience). Also, your caseworker - person doing your homestudy, should be able to give you clear guidelines.
good luck! We are in Ontario too. |
