What a beautiful child! Did you say whether 'it' was a boy or girl? If you did I missed it and I can't tell by the name. But congrats, you guys look VERY happy.

Others looking at your site - since you asked - might be interested in more specific details about your arrangments with the birthparents, costs, follow-up process to finalization and how you handle situations which might be different for your family makeup. I think it's a great idea to put your story out there. I haven't seen a lot of specific resources for same-sex couples.

Marty--what a great story. Thank you for your message and for the delightful information and photos on your website. My partner and I wish you the best with your new addition to your family. We are a same-sex couple of 15 years in Pittsburgh. Our homestudy was completed at the beginning of July and our search continues. We are so torned between an infant, toddler or older child adoption. Because of the high cost of infant adoption through private agencies and the "third choice" label some states place on us (straight couple-1st, single parent-2nd, same-sex couple-3rd), we assume our best chance is older child adoption. Since we have joint custody of my partner's 15 year old son, we feel it is important to adopt a child or children much younger then him. Ant suggestions you can offer will make a difference in our lives.
