Support group????
Hi,
New here  My DH and I are just launching into the adoption process in Calgary. We plan a domestic government adoption. We can't seem to find a support group for domestic government adoption in Calgary. Does anyone know of one? Thanks!! CR

Hi CR!!
I'm a bit south of you, Lethbridge We have a support group here that is open to any adoptive parent, no matter what road they took. I bet there is one in Calgary too! I know that one of the private agencies has a support group, but I'm not sure if they only for people who use them....you may want to call all of the private agencies to ask if they know of any. The agency we used plugs our support group for us, so it might be a good way to go!! Welcome to the forums!!

I know there is a support group for adoptive parents through one of the Calgary agencies. They have many adoptive parents there who have adopted children from the government program that pairs up with agencies. PM me if you'd like the information.

Calgary does have a group for those going through the Government, it is called CAPS (Calgary Adoptive Parents Society) and it is organized by Frances Seyer, please contact me for the phone number. Also, I live in Calgary and am also doing Domestic adoption through the Government and would love to meet another couple for coffee/support. Let me know if you are intersted.
