Hi,
We seem to be way behind most of you since we don't have any kids yet. My partner and I intend to adopt 1 or possibly 2 older children from foster care. We are still in the planning/research/getting our ducks in a row part of the process. I should mention that we are big on planning so we probably won't get started for 1-2 years. We live in Ontario and are currently raising 5 felines.

I certainly appreciate having such a great resource available for my endless research, planning, and thinking about it all.

Hello everyone, I have to laugh at your posts, yes is does sound like an AA meeting (not that I've ever been to one!)

I have to admit something too, I am not a true Canadian, I am transplanted from the US (Iowa to be exact) I am a product of a 'mixed' marriage, Yank to Canuck. My Mom married a professional hockey player, what can I say?

I feel VERY Canadian, married to one, and 3 kids are ones. I moved quite a bit growing up, from Canada to the US, but this time have been here for 20 years!

We are also in Edmonton, patiently waiting for our angel from foster to Adopt!

Nice to meet all of you-and my fellow yanucks(yankie and canuck combined?)

LOL Well in purely Canadian fashion, our boys hockey season ended last week. This week they are taking "Spring Break Power Skating" and tonight, I registered them for hockey school IN AUGUST!!!

Help, my sons are addicted!

My son is not even 2 yet, and he knows darn well what hockey is. His favorite shirt is a Calgary Flames shirt...sorry all you Edmontonians. He has a hockey stick (i call it his whack-a-dog stick) and a hockey doll that he loves....My husband is pleased. lol

DD loves to go to the rink and watch "guys go boom boom" with her Dad! Of course, now she knows it is hockey and says that but in the beginning it was so cute to hear her describe it. She has her own little sticks and loves to hit a ball around the house.

I think it's cool when kids find something they love and go for it !

My DS loves hockey too! Last night, we were on our way to bed and he asked if he could watch Hockey on TV? I told him not as long as he wanted to watch with mommy! LOL! Hockey is daddy's thing..
