Lightbulb Canadian(Canadien) Adoption Registry new link

Hi all, I was doing some searching for a friend of mine and ran across this registry index for both adoptees searching and birth family searching. I hope it helps someone. Best wishes! http://www.canadianadopteesregistry.org/index.html

Thanks for posting this site's address.

I searched for 26 years for my older birth-sister and it is on this site where we found each other.

The moderators are incredible, sensitive people who called me long-distance in Australia (where I now live) to tell me that my sister had registered and that I should prepare myself for possible contact. I can't say enough about these people.....they are angels.

For everyone out there looking for family in Canada -- try this site....every little bit helps.

Cheers, Cynthia

I found my daughter through these people. After searching for ten years. It is a free service!!!They were fantastic. They helped with the process and gave me a few tips as to how to deal with our first contact.

I had typed my daughters full birth name and it led me to thier page. I had left a message and they called me back the same day. (I don't know how they managed to understand me as I was sobbing my heart out). I would like to thank Gail for her helpful advice and helping me find my daughter.

It has been the best thing that has ever happened me, next to giving birth to my daughter. Yes I was lucky and our reunion has been wonderful. I am even a grandmother and my grandson spends weekends with me while my daughter works!
I wish all the best with your search.

It was through these folks that I found my brother in 1999, they were/are just wonderful people.

Talking Reunited! May 8. 2004

In answer to Starry Night's post, I also have been reunited with my son on this web-site. He will be 33 this month. He registered on the Canadian Adoption Registry last fall and I registered in Feb. so we were matched. We have since met each other; on Mother's Day weekend! if you can imagine. We planned it weeks in advance, since we live about 400 miles away. Then we discovered it would be that weekend, but of course I was pleased about the coincidence. So things are going very nicely so far. He is visiting us in a few weeks to meet his 4 sisters, Brave soul that he is. They are all looking forward to it very much. I am indeed a very happy Momma at this time. Don't want to ramble too much but I am still at the "Honeymoon" stage I guess. Just wanted to share this and will post again soon.
