Me and my husband could use some information about having my daughter adopted by him. Her dad has been out of the picture for about 10 years and been in prison off and on. I don't even know where to find him. What I am concerned about is the divorce documents state I have physical custody, while he has visitation. None of this was ever changed. Can anyone help with some advice or let me know what I am looking at. Thanks Cindi

First of all, I would suggest that you contact an adoption attorney in your area that is well versed in stepparent adoptions. You can find listings of adoption professionals in your area at www.AdoptionDirectory.com. Also, here is a link from one of our websites as well, which you may find informative: http://www.adoptiveparents.com/pages...t_adoption.asp I hope all goes smoothly in the process for you and your family. Good luck!! smileygirl ![]() |
