help-we may already have a baby to adopt
I have been approached by a young girl in my church youth group to adopt her unborn baby. she knew my husband and i were unable to have children after trying for many years. where do we begin the process? information i have found on the internet says to hire an attorney, is there any way to handle an adoption without an attorney? can we just file the paperwork ourselves? can we bypass going thru any kind of agency? any assistance to lead us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I would definitely hire an attorney. It's not necessary to go through an agency, however I would encourage her to get counseling before she makes her mind up for sure.
