I can't believe it just last week, I was saying how disappointed I was by the wait and then bam, it happened. We have a 2 year little girl. I couldn't be more thrilled...it's like a dream. No, we did get her. There was a mix up, apparently her social worker was new and had started everything to proceed with the adoption process. Her mother already had her TPR hearing and lost, but there was another family who had expressed interest (family friends) at the trial, so she really should have never been offered. We found out 2 days before we were to see her. I now have a room filled with dolls, pink and purple clothes, stuff animals and everything that says "girl" - just no girl. Our family even gave us a welcome toddler shower. We are heartbroken. We just start the wait all over again. My advise to any of you out there, don't do anything until you have that child in your arms - even if you know everything about them, their background, what they look like, etc., until you have them in our arms try and keep some distance so your protected from the heartache if it doesn't happen.

Congradulations Kari!!!! We too are experiening "the wait" with a public agency. It's been nearly 6 months. There have been plenty of referrals, but not a match. We are seeking an AA or Bi-racial female 0 - 2 years.
