We have thought about taking in the older and possibly adopting her as well. We were also told because she is 14 almost 15 and close to being out of the system that it would be better to adopt one of the younger siblings.

I am a social worker, and have several teens that I have placed for adoption; what a wonderful experience, to see the absolute joy on their face that they now have someone to mom or dad to, wow. If you have not met the older child, meet her, talk to her, find out what she wants, and from whom. Then share your thoughts and feelings with her, and you all will find an answer, but to remember this young lady is just that, no a child and not an adult, but she does have a clue, so honesty is the key. Good luck to you and to our teenager.
