bio mom has to attend classes; she doesn't need a car but I think she has to have somewhere to live. They may not do TPR yet but she'll have to prove herself. that being said, I had a 14 yo who had 2 sisters also in care. Housing was bio mom's only issue and DSS wouldn't TPR. Supposedly, it's the law.

Its normal for dcfs to move fd and they are planning on giving bio-mom back her kids. dcfs is having the other foster mother that got the sibling do a adopt homestudy. dcfs and the bio-mom are not evening talking.bio-mom is paying for her own classes. since we had fd bio-mom been canceling some of her visitation

No DCF wouldn't move the child if they felt re-unification was on the books. They are marking every missed visit, every late visit, the cancellation on mom's part. They are building their case also. The judge could give her more time since she's trying, but then again maybe not. I was told once that in order to appeal the parents have to hire their own lawyer. If she does appeal, it can drag the case out for another 6 - 8 months and the visits could continue during this period. Best of luck! |

To me I think they are actually thinking the birthmom will be TPR'd and do want to move the child to an adoptive home so there won't be more transition later. Plus, they won't tpr and create a legal orphan. They need to have an adoptive placement (even of a relative) to tpr otherwise, they'll hold off tpr until a permanent placement is in place.
They also don't want to deny birthmom visitation because birthmom can appeal based on not receiving proper services (visitation is one of those services). I know it's crazy and I'm still in the process too but hang in there. |
