How many Xs did your HS get submitted before you were matched?
Okay, here's the short story.....
Our family is fost/adopting thru an agency, we are hoping to adopt from 1 to 3 children up to age 8. Our SW has just submitted our HS for a sib set of 3 and a sib set of 2. So, I'm curious, how many HS's do you suppose get submitted for sib sets? I'd like to find out what my chances are of being matched. And how long does it take from the time of submission until you know something? Any advise would be great....thanks

Sorry...but it could take forever! I've heard some who have submitted hs to over 60 kids. We've submitted to about 5 sibs sets and after 2 1/2 months still waiting on one we think we may have a chance for.
I've heard the key is, if you're able to find out who the SW is on the kids adoption side, you may have a better chance. Call and introduce yourself, tell a little about yourself, etc. Sometimes it helps them to know you are really interested and to hear a friendly voice who wants these kids. With the one we think we have a chance for, we found her online, asked our agency to submit hs. Then 2 days later we saw her and her foster mom at Sam's Club. It was amazing! We got to meet her (just as other foster parents not as ones interested in adopting her) and talk with her foster mom. Foster mom gave us the adoption workers info and we called her. We were able to share our story of how we met her and talked about how we lived in the same area so she can keep in touch with her sibs (who are not being adopted together) and she can stay in same school to finish out the year. Now she has sent an email to our adoption worker confirming a few details about us and she mentioned how she spoke to us. I've called her a couple of times. But the waiting is horrible! It's tough, but will be worth it in the end!
