Home inspection to be held monday

I figured since I turned in everything I needed to for the licensing including CPR/First Aid etc...I would get a quick call to come out and do the home inspection.

It didn't come as quickly as I expected and so I quit worrying about it.

Today I received a phone call asking if I could please have them do the home inspection done on Monday at 1pm because they had had a cancellation.

I've been ready for a while and excitedly went through the house tonight with my checklist....however, is there anything any last min advice any of you all have for me????

Make sure the meds are locked up and put high enough where kids can not reach them and also all dish soap/detergent etc. is counter height or above. Those were always two things our guy looked for. Our guy was great as he always made us feel relaxed and not stressed. Don't worry too much about making your house perfect....just relax and let us know how it goes!

Oh also have all your emergency stuff posted and know where it is...he wanted to see that too!

Good luck!

Relax,
If they go through and fail you on anything, all you have to do is fix it and they will come back and check again. I always had trouble with my water heater as the temp. was hard to adjust. Also my fridge failed once because of temp. You just make the needed adjustment and they come back. The bottom line is that they WANT you to pass. They need good home for children. You will do just fine if you have followed the guidlines.

Good luck,
Saj

Hi Dannie, I hope your visit went well today. Did you know ahead of time what you needed to do? We didn't get our check list of requirements until during the visit. But our SW's went through the missing items during our first home study so it was pretty painless.

Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the posts guys, it did go well!

I did have a checklist and went through the whole house and marked it off yesterday. My water temperature was good (I did have to chuckle a little bit with their water thermometer) and I had all my cleaners, medicine, and questionable stuff locked and high.

woo hoo....all I have to do now is fax my certificate of completion from my PRIDE classes (which is coming up...only 3 classes left) and I'll be good to go for 1 or 2 children for adoption that's the number of kids I got my license for 2.
