Help with forms - Medi-Cal Therapy

Hello,
Can any of you in the South Bay (Los Angeles) area recommend a therapist that I can put down on the forms that I am filling out? Or a better way to search for one? I managed to find a Medi-cal doctor & dentist, but have not found a therapist. You would think that they could give me a list or a place to start from. I did manage to find Blue Cross's doctors listings but they don't list any mental health. Other than calling the 6 or 7 in the yellow pages I don't know what to do.

Thank you!

We did fingerprints through LiveScan. I asked how long they would take to go through. The processor said without an address on the form (my agency) they are very slow...... instead of 3 days they are going to take 2 weeks. She didn't understand why I just smiled. 2 weeks is not bad at all!

We've scheduled a home visit next week and have classes from Jan 24th - Feb 7th. Then if all goes well (before that - LOL) we will have our certificate

How can thing be moving so slowly and so quickly at the same time???

Sorry I'm in late on this but thought I'd respond.

I contacted Harbor UCLA Medical Center - they have a Kid's Clinic in a bungalow outside the hospital. They are WONDERFUL! I never would have imagined how much they were so helpful. They work directly with the county and deal with foster/adopt kids all day long. If you ever have questions like this in the future, I'd give them a call. They are ultra helpful and went beyond the call of duty with my little one. Their number is 310-222-6504. I called them and told them what I needed. They asked for my social workers phone number to just confirm it was ok to give me info....called her and immediately called me back. They provided me with my baby's medi-cal number which nobody else could seem to track down. They even offered to schedule a same day appointment to check out my little one if I wanted, which I did.

Even if you don't want to use them for appointments, they can be an excellent resource.

Good luck to you.

no problem Love this site for great resources. Everyone is so helpful.

If anyone decides to go to Harbor UCLA Medical Center - just a quick warning you may want to allow 20 minutes just to park But that's the only downfall - everything else was perfect.

Thank you for the good resource. I am going to copy that down. For now we will be taking care of babies, so they let my paperwork slide without a therapist listed.

I do love how helpful the people on this website are.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas. I am taking advantage of the online sales and free shipping and getting a few necessities for the babies (and a few not so necessary too!)
