Looking for Fost/Adopt info in Riverside CA
We have been certified and waiting with our agency in Riverside for close to 17 months and are very frustrated. Several of their families are waiting for the same profile, under 5yrs, sib set of 2 max, cacausian and minimal risk. Because of being open to sibs we were told this would speed things up. These kids don't exist according to our agency, now. They were far more optimistic when we went through training/certification.
Any Riverside Agencys where families have had good success with this profile? Would we have better results going straight with the county or are our expectations of finding what we are looking for, just not realistic? Can we transfer our private agency stuff over to county? UGh! Help! We are really, really frustrated with the fost/adopt program/agency and while we feel in our hearts this is what we were called to do, I'm not feeling like it will ever happen ![]() |

If you want to possibly get a child faster, you may need to increase your specifications. I would ask my agency what is the most common profile to see if that is something I was interested in again. I know of a family that waited over 8 months (this was private though) and asked the agency if they could change their profile of a child. They went w/ bi racial instead of just caucausion (sp). The agency told them that if they would have done that sooner the wait time would have been shorter. Well, six weeks after they made the change they were matched.
If you go change your specifications, just make sure that is what you want. Good Luck, Happy123 |

That is so hard! I am near to you and have been frustrated with the wait as well. I am praying for you.

Hi,
I am also a foster mom in Riverside Co. I have been with our agency for over a year now. Our last foster baby went to bio family April 1 and we haven't had any calls since. I am frusterated as well. What city do you live in? Are you with a small agency? My director of the agency I am with said that the county is trying to place with bio family if possible first. I know you can change agencies cause I have looked into it but it is a pain to start the process over again. Good luck, we are in the same boat as you are. |
