Waiting to be assigned a cw.....
Hello,
I'm new here and was hoping you could help me out. I am in So. Cal and have attended the orientation meeting for foster/adopt through the county. This was about 6 weeks ago. I sent in the application and I got a letter back saying they had received it and that someone would be contacting me. It has been about 5 weeks and I haven't heard from anyone. Is this how long it normally takes? Would it be okay for me to call? Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful posts I am learning a lot. ![]() |

I think you should give them a call. Usually, after you have submitted the application, you take the MAPP classes. Does the letter have a sw's name or someone you can contact? I honestly, don't remember how long we had to wait, but I do remember that I was the one that initially call the sw, and basically told her that she was our assigned sw, after that initial call, she got the ball rolling. You have to really be on them, especially with LA county. Good luck!
