How do I prepare to foster/adopt? Books? etc
Hi,
We have for children and want to foster/adopt a sibling set of four. We are just getting started on doing the paperwork hustle to get approved to foster/adopt. While we are awaiting the fingerprints we are trying to get our home homestudy ready, taking the CPR classes and reading up on it. We know NOTHING about the children we saw that WE HOPE TO ADOPT except their ages and that they seem to be normal. (though I am sure they will have behavioral problems and maybe some learning delays. ) ( I used to be in foster care so i somewhat know what to expect) Can any one recommend books to prepare our hearts and homes? Also, they have already had the TPR. Will we get to meet with them before they live with us? We want to be positive that this is a good match before we complete the adoption. Thank you, Alida |

I have read some good books. Message me if you're interested. There are a LOT of good resources online as well. You might also ask your social worker for some recommendations on books.
