Child care supplement for fost/adopt

Hi all,

I work outside the home. My hours are flexible but, I will need childcare while I am at work. Do any of you recieve money for childcare for your foster child before they are adopted? I know there is a money supplement and once they are adopted your receive AAP.

Looking for info and advice

My FD's daycare was $700 per month and it was covered in full. In addition, I received $425 monthly stipend. I also got $200 per year for clothing.

I was shocked how much we received - totally unexpected.

We were told there were no funds in the county's budget our first time around and this time around I didn't even bother to ask as I already knew their answer. We do apply the monthly stipend towards childcare although we pay almost double that each month....I assume each county is different in what they pay and don't pay, so best of luck to you and I hope your county is better in paying than mine!

Thanks for the info. I guess it varies from county to county.

Is it your social worker that arranges the childcare or another agency?

I've been looking for information on this too...

child care costs in my area are about $700 per month which would eat up everything I would receive to help care for the child. Please let me know what programs to research or FFA to contact.

Thanks!

It all depends on where you live. I know we do not have the budget here in Northern California to pay for childcare. I am with my local county.
