Finalizing!
 We're finalizing June 6th! SOOOO Excited. Our new daughter is 12 and has been awaiting this for several years as we've also adopted her 3 bio siblings. She's opted to choose a new name which we're all getting used to. Soooo, just had to share the good news with someone!!!

Good for you. Are you going to use her new name on a daily basis? I have an 8 and 9 year old and we are changing their names legally but with continue to call them their old names.

We left it completely up to her and she asked that we use her new name. We adopted two sons last year, both had name changes and both also prefer their new names.

I haven't followed your story -- we're going to start the process here in Fresno soon as we get settled into our new home some more. Did you go through county or an agency to foster-adopt? ~g

We went through Families First initially but are now placed with County. Private agencies do provide more one on one help but county seemed to be a much faster process. How exciting for you! I remember the beginning of our very long journey. My best advice is to have lots of patience and dont let little setbacks push you away! If you need anything, email me at cavanaugh593@aol.com

Congrats, hopefully we will be finalizing soon. We sign adoption placement papers on friday.
