We finalized yesterday!

We finalized the adoption of our two boys yesterday. It was a quick yet beautiful ceremony with the judge. The judge was great! We were in and out of there w/ in 15 minutes (that includes taking pictures.) Everyone said it was fast and wow, they were not kidding!

So how is everyone else doing with their process? Best of luck to everyone!

Now we begin the process of updating our homestudy to include our two sons in it....woohoooo!!!!!

Congratulations!! That must be a wonderful feeling to know that they are yours forever. If you feel comfortable, we would love to see their photo.

Here is my first attempt at posting a picture. I am not sure what I am doing since I have never been able to post their pictures till now! I know I am biased but I think my sons are quite handsome....LOL

Hope this works!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! They are officially yours. I'm very happy for you and your family.

This Friday will be week 3 waiting for a court date. If I don't hear from my lawyer before Friday, I'll be calling him just to remind him we're alive. Maybe he'll stun me with news of a court date.

Yash

Yash-

Thanks for the congratulations! We have been on cloud 9 all week from the realization that it's over and done!

I don't understand how and why you have had to wait for a date for so long....our sw said once we signed the adoption papers she took them herself to court to get stamped and then got us assigned a court date. Did your sw or lawyer mail in your adoption papers or deliver them in person? We also never had a lawyer...what is the point of you having a lawyer if they have left you waiting for 3 weeks? UGHHHHH I am so frustrated for you so I can only imagine how frustrated you are.

I hope and pray you get a date soon. Keep us posted!

The boys are gorgeous.

I'm being told it takes on average 4 weeks to get a court date in the LA family courts now a days and that's with a private attorney. The wait is longer for those who have a state atty.

The court date is usually 2 weeks from the day that the court calls you back.

It's madness, but at least I can see the finish line.
