Are there support groups for us?
I believe I may have posted in the wrong place last week. I am hoping to get some information on fostering-adoption support groups in the bay area. My partner and I are going to begin the training required for licensing to become foster-adoption parents and I am hoping to have a regular source of support and feedback from others in similar situations.
Does anyone have any leads? We are African-American and Same-Sex, however, I hope that self-identification isn't really required for such a support group in the Bay Area. All ideas and leads would be greatly appreciated. Crystal

Hi Crystal,
You might want to check out the Gay/Lesbian thread under Blended Families, started by Andy, a very nice lady. I'm a gay father on the east coast; my husband and I have four adopted kids. You'll find plenty of support and info on this forum. Mike
