I've been chosen...

After waiting in placement since January 04, I got the call today that I've been chosen as a match to adopt two sisters in foster care in another county (down south)! The county agency matched me more than one month ago for a single girl they had, but my private agency never told me about it, since they knew I am only interested in a sibling set of girls. Reunification has been terminated and a TPR hearing has been scheduled, pending a permanent home for them.

I'm so glad I'm as prepared as I am -- that I've done my homework, and have asked the questions and have a good history working with children in understanding their needs. Of course, I've learned a lot by listening to you all share your stories in this forum and I so appreciate all your great advice. Now it looks like I'll get to find out for myself the miracle and mystery of first time single parenting two little girls!

Pray for me this week as I prepare for Disclosure. The SW's and placement team would like the girls in my home permanently before the school year begins (so would I!), and things will move fast from here. I know that the Lord will show me what He wants in this, and that if these are my girls, I will know.

They are 8 and 10. Thanks for prayers and support. I will keep you in the know, for sure.

Sincerely,

Anita
