Friends,
My husband and I have considered adoption, as we are unable to have our own children and have often thought of alternative options. The problem is, my husband and I got in an arguement a few years ago that resulted in a neighbor calling the police and my husband being charged with a misdemeanor (domestic vio). Since, we've had the charges dropped and all but expunged, but a thorough FBI check will return with this charge.. Any ideas? Should we even try to adopt? We don't want to ask if the answer is a no before any consideration. Note: My husband and I are not violent.. But we made a mistake and fought with each other (we were very young and under extreme stress) and have paid the consequences dearly ever since.. Just for any of you who might respond with we are getting what we deserve... |

I'm no expert, but I think that if you explain the situation that it should not be a problem for your adoption.
Good luck. |
