Lilliput Children's Services

I haven't posted before but registered sometime back and have gained lots of info from reading past posts...

My husband and I are currently in the waiting pool with an attorney who specializes in independent newborn domestic adoptions. We've only been waiting about 7 months, but in that time did experience one very painful (and expensive) adoption loss.

We are both now feeling led to look into foster/adopt. Today I came across a website for a No. CA agency called Lilliput Childrens' Services. Looks like they don't do "traditional" foster placements, just foster/adopt. We plan on attending their info meeting this month.

Anyone here heard anything about or have any experience w/this agency??

Thanks,
Nancy

My husband and I are currently working with Lilliput agency. We are very happy with the agency and the social workers there. We are pretty far through the process, now just working on finding a child! This kind of adoption is not for everybody though, you have to keep in mind that these children were removed from their birth parents care for a reason. We have found that the workers at Lilliput are very sensitive to our situation and our needs and wants. I would recommend Lilliput to anybody considering this type of adoption!

My partner and I went through Lilliput for the adoption of our daughter. They were a wonderful angency to use. Our daughter was in foster care for over 6 years and 4 of the 5 placements that she had were through Sierra. I have heard horor stories of families that have gone through the other agencies such as Sierra. We have had nothing but a positive experience. We celebrated our 2 years with our daughter in February. All the best luck to you!

Leanne

Talking I adopted through Sierra Adoptions

Hello I adopted through Sierra Adoptions and had a wonderful expierence. I am currently working on adopting two more from this agency.

I suggest attending a meeting for both agencies. I suggest attending a meeting for many agencies to pick the right one.

Every agency will fit what your needs are for a family.

If Lillyput has your interest , attend one of their support groups of people who have already adopted. The support groups will answer all your questions about how the adoptions process feels from a parents perspective.

Good luck in finding an agency right for you.

Sam

Talking Sierra Adoption Services

Sam gives very good advice...

We are homestudied through Sierra Adoption Services (SAS), and are hopefully being considered for a match right now. SAS has been wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend them. We have had positive experiences with all of our workers at SAS.

I agree with Sam, check out Sierra Adoptions AND Lilliput, and see which one seems to be the right "fit" for you.

Good luck!

Thumbs up lilliput

We have adopted two beautiful children from Sacramento County using Lilliput Children's Services as our agency. We have had a very positive experience. We highly recommend them.

Our daughter (Cauc.) was three years old when we were placed with her. Our son (Hisp.) was 3 months.
