adoption subsidy in California
I have a friend who has adopted a special needs child. Does anyone have information on a subsidy program?
They have many medical and physical therapy bills. Thanks

We adopted from Foster Care. We get money from the AAP (Adoption Assistance Program, it's Federal money) We will receive this money until he is 18 yrs. It is for "special needs" children. Qualifications for "special needs": Child of color (AA, NA, Hisp, etc), abuse (drug exposed, physical, sexual,emotional), any medical, emotional or psycholical problems. I don't know what type your adoption is. You might check with your adoption lawyer if you have one. Good luck.
