I need help with information about other states

Hi All,

I need to hear from those of you who have adopted from a different state other than California.

I especially need to know how long it took for the innerstate compact to go through and the fee for the same and any other information that isn't the norm that you think might be helpful or that we should have a heads up about. Oh, and I need to know the waiting period until the expectant mother can sign.

Here are the specific states we need the info on:

Oregon

Washington

Idaho

Utah

Arizona

New Mexico

Texas

Colorado

Florida

Thank you all in advance and I need this info ASAP!
Judy

FL agency

hi judy,
we adopted in FL. we were there a total of 10 days, the ICPC on FL's end took 4 days. but it took us time to get all the paperwork done and fed ex'd to the right places. then it took us 2 days to get a flight out since it was during spring break. we paid $4000 i think for the ICPC. but they also finalized so we had other costs too. i think the waiting time for FL is the same as cali, 72 hrs for the bmom to sign, i think, but dont hold me to that. ours was a last min placement so she had signed by the time we got there.
we were working with 2 agencies one in cali and then the FL agency, so we had Extra costs. with both agencies and travel, we paid around $25,000. do you plan on using an agency here in cali too? if you are looking at agencies in FL, i would recommend you do NOT use the one we did. they treated us Horribly and just kept adding to their bill. i felt like our baby was being held hostage, pay this or we wont finalize your adoption. i know 2 other people who have had BAD experiences with them too, i can go into detail if you like. if you want to know the name of the agency you can PM me.
if you have more questions, let me know.
