Hi....has anybody heard of, worked with or know others who have worked with the Adoption Center of Northern California? Good experiences, bad experiences? I'm considering working with this agency and I would appreciate any information!
Thanks! |

Adoption Center of Northern California
Thanks for the quick response. I knew that the ACNC was run by an attorney, but I still thought this was an agency.
Maybe you can answer this..... If I go with an agency, such as the IAC, and I have to get an attorney, which I will do, won't the fees be very close if I add these on? If I quickly break down the fees of the ACNC I come up with about $13,000. The IAC breaks down to about $15,800....very approximate, obviously. One thing hanging us up with the ACNC is the initial "private workshop" at a cost of $500. We really can't afford to pay this fee if we are not sure of working with them. I'm looking at the literature now and I see it does not use the word "agency" at all, my mistake. How confusing this all is!! Thanks again!! |

Julianna....thanks again. I have been busily pouring over my information from the Adoption Center and I missed so many details. The information you just provided led me to info that I hadn't seen before, such as the Homestudy info. I'm feeling kinda bad for missing some things, but this is why research and questions are so important, right?
My husband thanks you, too, he just said. I am so fortunate to have found this site and I am glad you are here, too. I'll keep plugging along. Have a great day! |

HI..
We're using adoption ctr of n. california and Nanci Worcester is a wonderful atty. They are not an agency and yes, you will have to hire a separate adoption agency...especially for the homestudy...she gave us a name of a great one in Monterey & they were very quick and thorough for a homestudy. Adption Ctr does do some facilitating, and they are very professional and caring on the phone. They always know who you are when you call. We choose them because her fee seemed reasonable & we liked the fact she had a small office w/ small staff...only 2 people. She comes very highly recommended. Good luck in your adoption search!! |
