Thank you for the link to online birth Records in CA. I hired a PI in 1995 and was given the surname of Henderson. Always thought that was my B.dads last name. I searched this site today, only to find out that Henderson was used ALOT with no first or middle names attached to the child. Seriously this should be against the law. From the early 1900's to 67 ( I only searched untill I found my year) in the state of CA this bogus surname was used. I would venture to guess that the father was not present or may not have even known...
Just an FYI to any of the folks searching for the surname of Henderson in the state of CA. |

I don't know if this will help you, but I found the California Birth Index free access at: http://www.sfgenealogy.net/php/cabisearch2.php
Good luck. |

Thanks wishfulthinker. I've found a few online birth indexes and they all show me but with my adopted name. The sfgenealogy site does the same and shows my mother's maiden name as being my adoptive mother's maiden.
Still wondering if anyone has access to the vitalsearch site or any other info. Thanks! |

Well I found a search angel and he/she has been doing some research for me. We may have found out my birth name. I used that sfgenealogy site to verify some info and it matches!
I may have found my birthmother, I'll keep you posted if I do! |

That's great news! I've got my birth name, and last names of birth parents, but I haven't gotten any further. I sent away for my non-id & am waiting to receive it. Any tips on a next step would be greatly appreciated.

We'll see how this all turns out, but my search angel said it would be much easier if I had my NID. I did send away for it some 15 years ago but sadly had to leave it behind when I moved. Long story
Luckily I remembered a lot that was on it, and my adoptive parents have been helpful and supportive as well.again, thank you for that site! |
