I would recommend beginning by requesting your non-identifying information from the adoption agency. It should include descriptions of your birth parents, other family members, and the circumstances surrounding your relinquishment. Also, CA has a birth index where you can find your birth name. I'm not an expert and I don't have access to help you but there are many people who can. Good luck to you from another California adoptee who's searching.

Thanks, for the info, but I have already found my birth mother. The wonderful angels at the Yahoo Group, Adoption Search Angels, have helped me tremendously. For anyone searching that is the place to go!
