I have my CA amended birth certificate and I have heard that there my be a way of useing the numbers on it to find out whats on my original birth certificate. If anyone knows how to do this or if anyone has the tools to do this please let me know ,Thank you so much.

DOB August 11,1969 San Francisco CA white male born at 11:50am, Attending Dr.Thomas Dolan M.D. office was on 3rd and Parnassus ave, across from UCSF medical center.

I am not sure how you would cross reference your birth certificate number to get your birth info in California. I have not heard that is possible in California. In Kentucky, there is a birth book (that stopped being published after 1965 births) that lists ALL births with the birth mothers name (first AND last). The last few numbers are the same on both birth certificates, they only change the first few. So I was able to use that number to locate my friend's birth mom. It took a while, because the book is alphabetized, not by certificate number. But I found her in ONE day.

I have a subscription to Vital search, so I ran a check using your birth date and the county you were born in. Check your private messages, I sent you what I found.

I ran your birthdate on Ancestry.com CA Birth index. There is only 25 males born in San Fran on your date of birth. Only one of them was not named:

bfather would have been Wiser, and bmother was Sauer. As per usual with babys that were relinquished, this record was listed twice. Once under Wiser and once under Sauer. Is this you? I don't know. Maybe someone with a birth index can double check it. It may be a place to start.

If you go to your local county clerk's office you can request a copy of an informational ciopy of the birth certificate for the name you think you may be and compare the information like time of birth, certificate number, hospital, etc....

actually, yes - you CAN match up the birth cert # and State # with the NEW amended birth certificate! That's how I found out my bdaughter's "new" name.

I am both an adoptee and a birth mother. I have my birth son's original birth certificate. Seems it would be faster to locate him if I cross referenced his birth certificate with his new one. I also have my amended birth certificate. The final adoption papers have me listed as Farrell while the CA birth Index lists it as Ferrell. Can you sent me the information also on how to so about accomplishing this?
