I don't have any advise on getting your OBC since I haven't gotten mine released yet but......try vitalsearch.com. They have the California births listed there. I tried to order mine from them but its sealed so I was SOL. It still gave me my mothers maiden name which helped me a lot in my search. Let me know if I can do anything to help. I sent you an PM in answer to yours.

try copies of the court files
Hello,
My name is Gaby, i live in the netherlands, and i'm doing the search for my best friend, who found out that she was adopted from the united states, we wrote to the superior court in CA ans requested for the copies of the court files, concerning the adoption, you will find a lot of information in those copies, in the mean we are still in search for her birthmother, and petitioned the court recently for a request to open her sealed records, we are still waiting, if the judge will granted her petition, so you can try getting the copies of the court files. I hope that i've been helpfull to you. Best regards, Gaby from the netherlands |

When we searched for DH's birthmother, we had her first and last name, and knew what hospital he had been born at. We also knew his birth name.
We wrote a letter to the hospital using the birth name as the signer and simply asked for the records. NY is a closed file state, but hospital records did not reflect that particular birth being an adoption and they just mailed us the whole file, no questions asked!! We were able to find everything from that hospital record. It's worth a shot if you know the birth name and hospital! Kim |

1965 (around) girl born to Linda Hucks in SF, CA
I am looking for a daughter my mom put up for adoption around 1965. She named her Gina at birth I think. The father was Phillip Trujillo but the birth record could say James Werk. My mom has passed away this May and I thought now I can look for her daughter wothout making my mom upset.

How do you write to the court? Do you have an address? I was born in Upland, CA, San Bernardino County. Do I need to contact a court there? Thanks for your help.

I had to deal with the state office- the county said they didn't have it since I was adopted!
