ISO: My half sister Teresa born 09/29/1970
Here's the story.

My (our) Dad Joe R. Meridith worked at Automated Molding Company in La Verne, California in the late 1960's to 1971. There he met Sherry and they had an affair that resulted in the birth of Teresa. Dad left Mom for Sherry and baby Teresa and took them from California to Oregon for about a year. Then in late 1971 Dad was back home with us and nothing was ever said about Sherry or Teresa. I was only 6 years old then and only remember Dad being gone for a time but do remember playing with my sister once or twice before he left.
Sherry lived on 1st Street in San Dimas, California and her parents lived in a trailer park at 801 Covina Blvd. in San Dimas, CA Sherry was about 24-25 at the time and unmarried. Sherry did not name my father as birthfather so no way of knowing if she named someone else or no birthfather named at all. We just know that she gave birth in Los Angeles County and pretty sure it was 1970. My Father died almost 23 years ago and I have not found any friends or family that remember anything except her name was Sherry, Where she lived and baby was girl named Teresa born in 1970.
Teresa has 4 sisters and 2 brothers that would love to know her, I'm just sorry that she'll never get to know her Dad. Dad April 14th, 1983 of ALS he was 44.


I have the city directory for San Dimas, CA and listed at 801 Covina Blvd in 1969 and 1970 was E. Mitchell. 801 Covina Blvd is the only trailer park on that road in San Dimas and we do know that Sherry's parents lived in that park. Listed in the Califonia birth records on Vitalsearch.com is
Mitchell Teresa 1970 09 29 Mitchell Female Los Angeles. No other names match the directory but this one.

Sherry J. Mitchell age 18 married James E. Holland age 18 in Los Angeles County on 6-3-1965 and Divorced sometime before 1970. James E. Holland re-married to Linnell N. Morre on 4-18-1970. Sherry J. Mitchell age 27 re-married to John B. Potts age 36 on 10-12-1974.

So from 1969-1970 to 1974 she was unmarried, 1969 enters my Dad and 9-29-1970 Teresa is born. Dad leaves My mom and takes Sherry and Teresa to his family in Oregon. Then about June or July of 1972 Dad came back to my Mom and his 5 other children and takes us back up to Oregon and Sherry and Teresa is never spoke of again.


I have been unable to contact Sherry or John Potts, But believe the live in Inglewood, CA. I believe Sherry's birthdate to be 12/11/1946, she would be 58 now. This woman is the closest match fory sisters mother and I really need to find her in order to find my sister.
