Born in Brigham City Utah 4/7/73 .....put into foster care in 1975 in Northridge CA... at 18 months old....then signed adoption papers at the age of two! She might have a kidney disease called Alports disease....or her children might have it! I have a picture.If anyone recognizes this little girl..contact me!!

I'm terrified!! I always thought she would look for me! What if she wants nothing to do with me.....? Did not realize what an emotional rollercoaster this would put me on! There is so much guilt and so many questions! I have a deep abiding faith that one way or another....this will work itself out....I have some names....not even sure if any are her...and really had no idea the number of Heather Lynns born on 4/7/73 that live in California...(not born in Cal)! I so don't want to intrude in her life...but everytime I get some kind of message from this site..my heart does a flip flop! Did I do the right thing....??? (sigh)

Glad you responded.
We are here for you. I can totally relate to being terrified. Yes you have done the right thing. I know it is scary and you have so many different emotions going through you and don't know what to do with them all or how to feel.
Keep trucking along and as slowly as you have to.
I understand your situation. My birth mother's name (maiden) is Carolyn (Carol) Louise Johnson.
Do you have any idea how many Carolyn L. Johnson's are in CA and how many were born in CA during the time period I am looking at for her? I completely understand.

Keep talking with us, maybe I can be some kind of a support to you during all of this.

What else have you done in your search, how are you feeling in general or are you just completely overwhelmed with emotions, I've been there.

I was also informed that within a year after my birth mother gave me up for adoption, she found out she had syphilis and was told she could never have kids again. Don't know if a miracle happened and down the road she was alb to? Don't know about that.

Thank you Heather.....for your kind words! Tonight I have spent hours going through post after post! I am so disillusioned! I'm not sure what I'm looking for now.....birth certificates changed....different places of birth, different birth dates....ugh! No money to speak of...I do have an abiding faith in God....and I believe that if this is meant to be....it will be! Non the less....I will not give up....hoping against hope that I may run across a post that will sound familier! I am wondering.....is your middle name Lynn?? Heather was named after my older sister....who died three months after Heather was born! So many memories....so much time! Praying something breaks soon....for both of us! Good luck!!

My search angel found my bmom in Oct.,2004.We talked for hours on the phone that night about everything from what color hair I have to what we like to eat.Then the question came up.She wanted to know if she could come visit.Of coarse I said yes and she came to visit for four days in Dec.I was terrified and happy at the same time.
She has since moved across country to my town.She lives about 5 minutes from me.We still have our moments where we don`t know what to say to each other.
She wasn`t able to have any more kids after me because of cancer.And she has post traumatic syndrome from everything that happened to her way back then.I have my times when i get angry with her about the way things went.And my angry is just the tip of the emotions that I feel,but I am trying to work through them.
I am very glad I went through this journey and would dod it all over again.Its not an easy one for me or my bmom but we take it one day at a time.
