Sibling Waiver
Biological siblings may be "matched" with an adoptee who is over 21 if waivers of confidentiality are filed.
For further registry information, contact: Department of Social Services, Adoptions Branch 744 P Street, M.S. 19/68 Sacramento, California 97814 Telephone: (916) 322-5973. Best Wishes in your search. Paris |

Have you hard anything back?
I filed a siblnig waiver along with a request for non-id info back in September and just last week got a letter back stating that I couldn't get the info but our mother could, so I mailed a photocopy of her ID (I sent mine to Cty of Los Angeles Dept of Children and Family Services Post Adoption 3530 Wilshire Blvd LA VA 90010 attn: Angelica Petitt... she's awesome) and she's sending me the non-id info as soon as she gets it. I mailed it off today so I should have it in about a week (3 days each way). Angelica said she's also including some info on a new law or part of a law in Cali put into effect in January that, if I understood correctly, will have the court, upon petition from you, send a 3rd party to contact the sibling... this is something they didn't do before. Before it was you file yours and just hope they've filed theirs. My brother hadn't, but now that it's past January, I can petition to court to open the record and appoint someone to contact him and see if he wants to file a sibling waiver. That lets them know someone is looking for them! Best of all, she said she believes it's free! If you want more info, e-mail me at findmybrother at cableone dot net. I'll relay what I've gotten! Best of luck!!

Looking for my brother, born Christopher Lee Schell on 7/20/72 in Los Angeles County, California. Update: 3/14/08 Happy Birthday to me, got a letter from LA Cty Adoptions re: non-id! Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have it! ![]() Update: 5/5/08 Found out A-dad was an attorney born in 1937. They applied to LA County adoptions in May 1970 for a second adoption which resulted (a couple years later) in getting my brother. Where do I look now?? Update: 5/19/08 I have his adopted name! I even have addresses and phone numbers, some of which MAY or may not be current, but when I contacted the A-dad he said he "doesn't remember adopting any children in 1972..." but grilled me about who I was, who our mother was, my brother's name, and then repeated his convenient memory loss and wished me good day. So close... and yet SO far...
