Question ISO Any birth relatives.I was born on 4/10/60 in San Diego

My birth name was Carol Ann Bowen, I was born in Collier Park Hospital in San Diego on April 10th, 1960. I am interested in tracking my ethnic background which seems to contain a substantial amount of Innuit blood. My birth mother was born in Alaska. If any of this sounds familiar to you, and you think we may be related, please contact me at Grooveline@aol.com

Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board!

You might use the following information below as a checklist for getting information to start your search in California. If you have any problems requesting this information you can email me at:

1) To begin your search you should contact the adoption agency that handled your adoption and request "non-identifying" information from your adoption file. The non-identifying information gives the ages, marital status and physical description of the birth parents. It may also give information about aunts, uncles and grandparents. If you already have this information but it is information given to your adoptive parents at the time of your adoption you might want to contact the agency and request your non-identifying information again. Agencies are giving out much more information now than they did years ago. However, you still will not receive identifying information.

2) You should also request a "Waiver for Consent to Contact" form. The Waiver is a form that can be used by adoptees or birthparents to give their permission for contact should a waiver be filed by both parties.

3) If you do not know what agency handled your adoption, or if you were a private adoption, you can contact this office for the above services:

California Department of Social Services
Adoption Branch
744 P Street, MS 19-67
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 322-3778
