I saw a woman who had given up a daughter on 100 Huntley Street a couple of months ago or so, her description of the girl she gave up matches me completely and her 1st name is the name of my birthmother whom I haven't met yet. Did anyone else see this or look into finding out more about her? I haven't contacted her about anything yet, I'm a bit nervous. Any advice?

write to the program and they may put her in touch with you. Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the advice!
I went on the site after I saw her on the show and they have her address and phone number and everything, I still have it in my adoption files just in case I ever want to talk with her, but I haven't gotten the courage to do it yet LOL! I'm thinking about doing it through a second party, that way if it is her she has the option of saying she doesn't want contact. I dunno, I'm still pondering over it. Maybe I'll talk to the people at the company I was adopted through about options. Thanks for all your advice! It's helped me think about ways to go about contacting her.

Just wondering...
Why was she on the show? Was she searching for her daughter?

I don't think so, I think she was talking about some other thing she's into or started or something but the topic came up that she had a baby girl she gave up for adoption who would be in her 20s now and when she gave her up she noticed that the brother she would have looked amazingly like her. My brother and I are adopted from different families but we both have darker skin, dark hair and green eyes. So it seems like a really weird coincidence. She also said the brother was 3 years older than her daughter and she was happy for that because her daughter would have an older brother to look out for her. My bro is also 3 years older than I. It's one of those things that gives you goosebumps, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much, there are prolly many stories like that.

Well, there are certainly similarities there. It couldn't hurt to ask for her daughter's date of birth. At least that way you'd know for sure if she's your bmom. If she is, do what you want. If not, at least you'll know to keep your eyes open for other bmom's searching. Just my two cents. The wondering would drive me nuts.
