Unhappy Please let me find you Mom

I was born March 21 1984 in Comox B.C. My only wish is that I can see my Mom. I graduated high school and am now married. My adopted name was Natalie Webb. Mom please let me find you!

Following are the search resources for Canada that thesearchguru has posted. Best of Luck!

Canadian Searching Resources
Searching Resources in Canada:

Excellent website: http://nebula.on.ca/canadopt/index.htm

Non-profit volunteer organization in Canada to help with searches:

Parent Finders of Canada

Joan Vanstone will answer searching questions for Canada: jvanstone@dccnet.com

Information on Quebec searches (from adoptee Terry who found his birth family):

"The search tool that works best is this quasi official agency called CENTRE JEUNESSE de QUEBECThe director is Marie-Paul Mastoumec…q she does not speak good English. The person to ask for is:Ellen Gagon phone number: 418-661-6951 fax: 418-661-2845 address: 2951, avenue DU bourg-Royal, Bueaport Quebec G1c3s2(all you need is your name, date of birth, adopted parents name and city of birth)I believe they can find your file with names and date of birth only. You should ask for all information available in your file to be sent to you, They will send all they can. I got my non- ID in three weeks. Along with non-ID are forms for them to do a search for you. The search costs around $500 (American)... payable in three stages. I highly recommend this if a search is necessary. If the person you are looking for has also been in contact with their office that is an instant mach. In those cases they give you names and addresses of the person you are looking for.Anyway I sent in the $180 (American) for the first stage and they found b-mom in three weeks it seems to move very fast. This seems to be the only location that has centralized the adoption files from the Quebec Province.Up until recently it was the local churches that keep all birth/marriage and adoption records thus making searching Quebec very difficult. ”For free searches” I don't know but scanning the many boards in French has improved my French but that is about it."

Here is some information for searching in Ontario, Canada. I hope you find the information helpful in your search:

Registry

Adoptions and Operational Services
Ministry of Community and Social Services
Adoption Information Unit
2 Floor St. West, 24th Floor
Toronto, Ontario
Canada, M4W 3H8

Adoption Disclosure Register Clerk: (416) 327-4730
International Adoptions: (416) 327-4739
Relative Adoptions: (416) 327-4740
Private Adoptions: (416) 327-4741

I would recommend that you register with the Adoption Disclosure Unit
in Toronto. Their search services are free. If the person you are looking for is already registered then a match will be made very quickly…if not then you can have them do a search for you.

Their website is www.gov.on.ca

From a Birth Mother in BC - not yours - but I want to talk

Hi,

My name is Shelley. I live in Vancouver. I am a birth mother and I have recently been in contact with my daughter who was born in 1984 and is the same age as you.

How is everything going with your search? Are you getting anywhere yet?

I just felt compelled to write to you. I know this all must be difficult for you and if you are looking for anyone to talk to or help you, I certainly can do what I can. It would be an honour for me.

Adoption is very hard on all of us, but I now am seeing how it is for some adoptees, the need to connect with a birth parent.

I can only tell you from my point, that I never, ever stopped thinking about my daughter and would like to say that it is possible that your mother thinks of you.

I am here if you have any quesitons. I put my name on a registry in Alberta, that is where my/our adoption took place in 1984 and this registry posted my daughters name on the internet, just her name, and she was on the internet and found that I was searching for her and it went from there.

I wish you peace of heart and mind on your journey.

Shelley.
