breastfeeding an adoptive baby

When should I start to "ready" my breasts and nipples, if it is at all possible? Also, I have heard about nipple manipulation --- what exactly is that? All suggestions will be helpful.
Thanks,

Re: breastfeeding an adoptive baby

Yes it is VERY possible to breastfeed your new baby. As you have already breastfed before, you should have no problems. (Hopefully) I would discuss with your doctor your desire to breastfeed and there are some books out on breastfeeding and adoption. Best of Luck to you.
