i was one of the rare cases where i started making milk when i knew we had a placement. it happened naturally. my physician said it is a psychological thing some adoptive moms bodies will do. i breastfed both of them for 4 months and then went to formula because i quit making milk. it was the best experience in the world. i don;t know if i would have done it though, i f i would have had to induce it somehow.

I have 3 children through adoption. i never breastfed. i never really had a chance to think about it, our placements happened quickly after the match. our bmoms all were in the late stages of their pregnancies. i have heard of those rare instances of amoms producing milk. i think it's very rare though and can't be relied upon that it could happen to you. my boys were all bottlefed and our bond is very tight. but i think it's great that you had such a rare and wonderful experience.
