grr...I am so mad! My bad side was doing so good today and then I went and spilled the bottle and lost most of the milk I had saved for the day! I am barely getting an ounce out of that side and now I only have maybe 1/3 of an ounce
Oh well, at least I can count it towards my daily supply in my head, even if it doesnt all end up in the freezer!

I hate when that happens!!! Right now I am only counting my daily total, and not saving it. The other day, it spilled before I could count it. Grrrr!

oh you are not saving it? I question that sometimes as I look at the amount increasing and taking up room in the freezer but then again, I cant seem to throw it out! I figure that I will need to supplement at first anyways so I am sure it will be usefull at some point!

No, with Isaac I had a TON of milk and we didn't use hardly any of it. I wound up dumping it all in the end and wasting a ton of money on freezer bags. I will freeze some at some point, but not yet.

ya, that totally makes sense, especially if you will have a full supply! I am starting to feel like maybe I will work up to that too. It seems to be that I am increasing still every 4-5 days...at 5 ounces today!! I am going to try the other pump sometime this week and see if I still increase over a weeks time. If I do, then I will return the rental and use one that is free! Life is good! Just need a baby now... I dreamt about twins last night. Not a good match, we have 3 kids already and a car.

I am pumping 8 ounces steadily now. I am 2/3 of the way to where I want to be once we have a newborn. I want to be pumping at least 12 ounces a day. I got 9 ounces one day, but haven't been able to pump that much again. I got sick though and I think that is why it fluctuated. I am really struggling with needing to get up during the night to boost my supply more, but I don't wanna!!! LOL So sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I pumped 70cc when I woke up this morning!!

Will 12 ounces be enough to fully feed a newborn? I was thinking like 24 ounces a day? If that is the case, I have a long way to go!

I got to 6 ounces last night! 5 on one side, one on the other! I am really trying to increase my weak side but it is proving to be VERY slow to increase!

I have stopped pumping through the night. When we get a match, I will start again but I was just finding if I did miss a night pumping then my boobs would be so sore and I needed to get up anyways, even if I didnt want to!

Well, 12-14 ounces will probably (should unless the baby is quite large) fully feed a newborn and then the baby can help increase based on need over the next month as it grows. 24 ounces is average for a 1-6 month old baby.

my babies were both big and ate more than that at newborn but if that is the avg then I am excited! It means that I am half way there!
I meant to ask you, are you lopsided in your production like I am? I am beginning to wonder if it will ever get more!

Well, it depends, sometimes I pump the same out of both sides or really close to it. Just now I pumped and got about 10cc out of the right side and 45cc out of the left. :-) My left is my bigger producer. Everyone has one that produces more.

Were your other babies breastfed? Or formula fed? I ask, because babies tend to overfeed with bottles, simply because it doesn't stop coming out and they have to keep swallowing. They also tend to eat less often, because formula takes longer to digest and so sometimes will eat more.

I have no idea what my supply is like these days but I am supplementing about 4 oz total durring the day and my hubby gives him 2oz a night in a bottle.
I've been only feeding him at the breast and he doesn't get anything but breastmilk. He loves the boob and doesn't mind working hard for his meal.

hello! Its been a while so I thought I would post! I have been away this weekend so it was my first test away from the regular pumping regime! One of the days, I was only able to pump 2 times but still, I managed to get almost 6 ounces! It is amazing how that works! I should be back to normal by tomorow, getting close to 7 ounces!
I have also gone partly over to a medela pump in style. It seems to be working the same although its way louder than the symphony! The pump n style is free though so I think I will totally transition to that one soon.

Well, I have quit pumping except for comfort and I am weaning off the meds. We are going to be putting our adoption contract on hold at the end of January and trying IUI for a bio baby while we go through his mom having surgery and moving. Then if I don't get pregnant, after we move we will reactivate the contract. So, I have quit pumping because I want off the meds before I do the fertility stuff.
