Just checking in....
Hey guys,
Just thought I'd see how things are going for all of you out there who are ABF... Things are going well for us - I have now been nursing K for 15 months or so. I am weaning off the dom and herbs (down to 50 mg of dom and 6 tabs of fenugreek) and things are going well. No decrease in milk supply so far, but I am watching closely so I can get back on if need be. We still nurse ALOT during the day - upon waking then around 11, then after nap and at bedtime. I just bought a nursing tank top which I am SO happy with - covers my belly and back when nursing - so nice for when we are at play groups etc. Anyways, how is everyone else doing? K

Hi Karen, Good for you that you are still going strong nursing your little guy. How is going off the dom? Have you noticed any negative effects by weaning off of it?
I am on month 2 of the Lenore/Goldfard protcol. Having some issues with breakthrough and the pill, but other than that doing fine. THere is no match in sight for us, so I am going to keep on the protocol. I have the lactaid if we would get an emergency call though. And, I have not started pumping or herbs yet.... |

Karyn ~ AWESOME to hear of your success! I definetly needed to hear that!!!
Inhiswill ~ I think my spotting started to slow down at about the 3mo mark after being on bcp/dom. Hopefully it will for you too! Still on the regular protocol with bcp/dom...been about 6mo so far. I started before we were active, and probably should have waited, but hopefully I'll have a good head-start when we're placed! I also have a lact-aid waiting in the sidelines "just in case." Can't WAIT to meet our baby!!! |

Hi guys - great to hear you both are still at it - hang in there!
Inhis will - I think my supply has gone down a bit, but it is hard to tell. It is nice to not have to take so much medication - but we'll see what happens in the next month or so. I also had the breakthrough bleeding in month 2 and 3, then it went away and I haven't had AF since (1.5 years - woohoo - nobody mentions that as a benefit to b/feeding!) BBY - I sure hope you get news soon - are you adopting domestically? And you are right - the longer you are on the protocol the better. I think I was on for about 6 months before we got our referral. There is a mom on the Ask Lenore site who pumped for TWO YEARS before they got their referral/placement - now that is dedication!
