Hi,
I've just come across this BB, didn't know it existed.
My name is Karleen Gribble, I'm a bio and adoptive mum and have breastfed both my children. I am also a researcher and together with another adoptive mother, Darillyn Starr, I am conducting a study of older adoptive breastfeeding. More and more women are considering breastfeeding their adopted children placed past the newborn period but there is very little information available to help them in achieving this. Darillyn and I are collecting the experiences of women who have attempted breastfeeding a child 4 months or older at placement (whether successful or not) in the hope of helping mothers in the future.
If any of you think you might be interested in participating in this study (it just requires you to complete a questionnaire about your experience) please email me (karleeng@optusnet.com.au) and I can send you some more information about the study. There are relatively few women who have done this so your experiences are extremely valuable!
