Is it possible to adopt independently from this country? If so...do you know of any websites that have any information on it. I would also appreciate any e-mails about it. thanks very much felsenundrolle@yahoo.com

Yes, it is possible if you can locate a Brazilian attorney or other organization (i.e. orphanage) willing to assist you. I think there are a number of circumstances that may influence you. For example, is there a specific child that you know of that you want to adopt or are you looking to adopt a newborn. For an unknown newborn you may find an agency (i.e. Limiar) to be more facilitating, though I have no firsthand experience with Limiar and am not recommending them. Good luck.
