In search of daughter born 7/29/78 in Richmond VA. Adoption may have taken place in Richmond or Newport News VA. Handled through Catholic Home Charities. My case worker was Mrs. Peele.I was told that her birth certificate was not amended , but this may not be true as it has been reported that this WAS the case in the 70's.I signed final adoption papers in Aug. 78 , but was told by social services (adoption unit) Richmond , that VA places babies in foster care for 3 mths. , and then 6 mths in home with adoptive parents , before final adoption can take place. They also told me that VA does not have a confidential Intermediary Program .I just dont see many options for birth parents in Va.

i gave birth to a daughter july 2 1978. i have not been able to locate her. born in birmingham alabama at baptist medical center montclair. her birth name was yolanda renah hill.

I was born July 27, 1978. I am a Caucasian female. Birth mother was German descent, birth father Scottish. I am mainly just searching for my birth mother, although I know about a half-sister through my birth father. She may not know about me, though.

Other facts about my birth mother:

- Born in 1957
- 5'5", average build (in 1979), brown hair, brown eyes
- Was working as a waitress while in college
- Has (had?) a younger sister
- Her parents were separated in late 1970s

My half-sister was just a toddler when I was given up for adoption, so that would make her around 30 now. I don't know anything else about her.

I have a sister that I am looking for that was born March 12, 1978 in Washington State. Mothers maiden name is Orsborn and Fathers last name is Young. If I have the story straight my sister was adopted about 6 months after she was born. Blonde hair and blue eyes.

I have a feeling that with all the changing of dates and places of birth back in the 70's, maybe the birthparents were lied to about the sex of the baby. My Birthmother was 16, and my Birthfather was 17.
The relationship was not on going at the time of my birth. There were no other children born to either of them prior to me.

ash blond hair, brown eyes, 5' 6" tall, 130#, right handed, wore glasses, B student, 11th grade. You were planning to go back and finish highschool. You wanted to maybe be an interior decorator, or a secretary. You were Baptist.

My adoptive parents Leo Lynn Bailey, Jr. and Shirley Marie Cooper Bailey are fine with this. I lost my older adopted brother from Gadney on 2-15-2005. He was born on 2-15-74. My parents had two boys and one more girl after me. We lived in Nueces County at the time they picked me up, but moved to Victoria, and then 5 years later moved to Portland, Texas. They now live south of Abilene, Texas. We are Baptist. My job keeps me traveling a lot. I do wish someone from my birthfamily would let me know how ya'll are. My brother met his birthmother before he died. I pray you are still alive. This goes for my birthfather, too. Maybe someday a sibling, or an aunt will contact me. Here is hoping!
