I am searching for my birthmother and or father and sisters and any other relatives. I was born october 29th 1971 in columbus georgia and was adopted the same year by the state to a military family. I do not want to intrude on anyones lives just want to let them know I am so glad to have been placed in such a loving safe well to do family and couldnt have asked for a better life. I have children now which means grandbabies but My main issue is to just be able to say thank you and see where it goes from there. Totally in their hands how far the meeting goes. Up to you. I am from what I know my mother was spanish and father was cherokee indian. I have drk brown hair and eyes.

Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board! NOTICE: The State of Colorado has a “Confidential Intermediary” search program that will search for and contact birth relatives. Be aware that if the person you are seeking declines contact you will not be given information to contact them yourself. There is generally a fee associated with this service. Using a Confidential Intermediary: Adopted adults, adoptive parents, birth parents, and birth siblings and half-siblings age 18 or older may file a motion in the court to appoint a confidential intermediary to search for birth relatives who are older than 18. After the two parties consent, contact will be made after the court consents. Contact: Colorado Confidential Intermediary Services PO Box 260460 Lakewood, CO 80226 (303) 237-6919 For adoption related information and records: Colorado Department of Human Services 1575 Sherman Street Denver, CO 80203-1714 (303) 866-3197 Fax: (303) 866-5563 Non-Identifying Information: Non-identifying information is available to adopted adults, adoptive parents, and descendants (age 18 or older) of deceased adopted adults. Contact the adoption agency that facilitated the adoption to request this information. Identifying Information: Identifying information is provided through an adoption registry and through provisions related to release of the original birth certificate, described below. Adoption Registry: The following parties may use the adoption registry: adopted adults; descendants of a deceased adopted adult; birth siblings; adoptive parents for the purpose of obtaining medical information that affects an adopted person; birth parents and their lineal ascendants; and descendents of deceased genetic parents. Both birth parents must consent for either to be matched with an adopted adult unless only one parent is named on the original birth certificate or the other birth parent is deceased or cannot be contacted. Contact: Colorado Voluntary Adoption Registry Colorado Department of Health 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South Denver, CO 80222 (303) 692-2188 Original Birth Certificate: For adoptions finalized after September 1, 1999, an adoptee 18 or older will automatically have access to original birth records unless a birth parent has filed a confidentiality request within 3 years of relinquishment. If an adoptee is part of an adopted sibling group, all members of the sibling group must be 18 before records can be released. If a confidentiality request is on file, the parties can still use the confidential intermediary process and mutually agree to contact and release of the original birth records. For adoptions finalized prior to September 1, 1999, birth parents and adoptees will have access to original birth records by mutual consent. Confidential intermediaries will be able to secure release of adoption records to mutually consenting parties. If the party being sought is deceased, records will be available to the searching party. Searching Resources in Georgia! For adoption related information and records: Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Children and Family Services, Office of Adoptions 2 Peachtree Street NW, Suite 3-323 Atlanta, GA 30303-3142 (404) 657-3558 Fax: (404) 659-9498 Requesting Non-Identifying Information: Adopted adults age 21 or older and adoptive parents of an adoptee younger than 21 can obtain information. Contact the adoption agency that facilitated the adoption. Requesting Identifying Information: An adopted adult can receive information if the birth parents have filed a consent. Using the State of Georgia Adoption Registry: The following persons may register: adopted adults 21 or older, adoptive parents of an adoptee younger than 21, birth parents, and birth siblings. How to make your post stand out!
Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board!
You might also want to post on the SEARCH AND REUNION BY YEAR (of birth) message board for the best exposure for your search information. For ease in others reading these many messages it would help to post as a “new thread” and to include the following information in the subject line PLUS in the content of the message: gender of adopted person date of birth city of birth state of birth For example: male 01/01/1960 Chicago Illinois Other people reading the message board will be more likely to identify with this basic information and will be more likely to read your complete message and contact you if there is a match.
