Smile Looking for biological anything!

I have very sketchy details given hesistantly to me by my adopted grandmother whom has been the mother figure for me most of my life. I am not interested in interrupting anyone's life, but I would like to know what I "came from". It's something that always intrigues me. To know who I look like... where I get my sense of humor... and if I belong to a line of other artists or artistic minds.
Ok, I was born on October 25, 1979. I am 24 right now. I was born in Louisville, KY. I believe the hospital I was born in has changed to some other medical facility since. My biological mother's supposed last name is Fey. Possibly even Debbie or Deborah Fey.
My adopted parents, Bob & Sally Whittaker.
My father's mother, Mary Brown, supposedly knew someone who knew someone who was giving a baby up for adoption and set it up for Bob & Sally. Sally was adopted herself, and sadly died when I was about 5 years old. After my father remarried, our relarionship died and I was alienated by the stepmother, which made me ponder my roots even moreso, I suppose.
I have recently purchased a new house with my boyfriend and my grandmother lives with us. I work at a local pet store and design websites. I am also an artist. I would love to hear from anyone whom I might be related to!

Searching Resources

Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board!

Recent changes in Kentucky’s law now make access to some information easier. Motivation to search varies for each individual. Under Kentucky’s current law, the Department for Community Based Services is able to conduct birth parent searches and provide certain background information to adult adoptees, birth relatives, and other professionals in the field of adoption.

Non-identifying information is available upon written request form the requestor. Identifying information is available only if the adult adoptee (over 21 years), birth parents, and birth siblings each consent. All requests for information from adoption records must be submitted to the agency that placed the adoptee or to the circuit court that finalized the adoption.

For more information, contact:
Kentucky Department for Community Based Services
275 East Main Street
3C-E
Frankfort, Kentucky 40601
Phone number: 502-564-2147.

For questions regarding Kentucky adoption related information and records:
Commonwealth of Kentucky
Families & Children
275 East Main Street, 3CE
Frankfort, KY 40621
(502) 564-2147
Fax: (502) 564-9554

Requesting Non-Identifying Information: Non-identifying information is available to adopted adults and adoptive parents of a minor.

Requesting Identifying Information: Adopted adults age 21 or older can petition the court to initiate a search for the birth parents. If the Department is unable to locate the birth parents, the court may or may not open the records. Pre-adoptive birth siblings may search for each other through the Department if they are over the age of 18. Birth parents can file consent for the release of identifying information.

Requesting an Original Birth Certificate: An adoptee must petition the court in which the adoption was finalized.

Providing Information: Birth parents or birth siblings can request that information be given to an adopted adult or adoptive parents of a minor about medical or genetic conditions that may affect the physical or mental health of the adopted adult.
