1978 -- Please read!!!!!!

If you gave up a child in 1978, whether it be boy or girl, please repsond with the place and date you gave birth, and when you signed adoption papers. I have a feeling that with all the changing of dates and places of birth back in the 70's, maybe the birthparents were lied to about the sex of the baby. That would make searching for your child or birthparent rather difficult, huh? Please respond, and maybe some adoptees will see a match.....thank you for your time...maybe we'll finally get somewhere...

1978 Adoption

Boy born May 17th 1977 in Toronto Ontario Canada. The adoption would have been finalized late '77 or sometime in 1978. I am a member of this boys adoptive family - also an adoptee myself.

Unhappy Born in 1978

I am writing because I was adopted on April 10, 1978 in Missoula MT. How did you find about the parents being lied to about the sex of their children? Please write me back.

Another registry option:

Largest and most widely used internet registry: http://registry.adoption.com/

I noticed from one of your other posts that while you were born in Washington D.C. that your adoptive parents lived in Maryland. If your adoption was finalized in Maryland you can use these search resources available to Maryland adoptees:

Fax: (410) 330-0127

Using the State of Maryland Adoption Registry: Adopted adults age 21 or older, birth parents, and birth siblings age 21 or older may register.

For adoptions finalized after January 1, 2000, adopted adults age 21 or older can receive their original birth certificate and report of the decree or judgment of adoption. If the birth parents have filed a disclosure veto, all identifying information will be deleted. Birth parents of an adopted adult age 21 or older can receive a copy of the altered birth certificate and report of the decree or judgment of adoption.
